New Version of Google Analytics Reporting Interface
June 4th, 2007
Earlier on May 2007, Google had announced the release of the new improved version of the Google Analytics reporting interface. the reporting interface has been redesigned for clarity, greater visibility of important metrics, and ease of use. In the matter of fact, it wasn’t just an enhanced interface but also it included enhanced reporting tools & services as well such as:
- Email and export reports: Schedule or send ad-hoc personalized report emails and export reports in PDF format.
- Custom Dashboard: No more digging through reports. Put all bthe information you need on a custom dashboard that you can email to others.
- Trend and Over-time Graph: Compare time periods and select date ranges without losing sight of long term trends.
- Contextual help tips: Context sensitive Help and Conversion University tips are available from every report.
The new interface has everything the previous interface had and more. In addition, links within reports make it easier to navigate related information and explore your data.
A few notes you need to know about the new version:
- The new version works best with Flash 7 or higher, to be able to have those fancy looking flash graphs.
- Google Analytics now uses the same geo-data source as Google AdWords, therefore, map and geo-location report results may vary slightly between the previous interface and the new interface. For those of you with filters designed for geo-data, you may want to verify the results and edit if necessary.
- Limiting the Available Reports for a profile by specifying which Report Dashboards and Report Categories are available has been removed from the product in favor of the new customizable Google Analytics dashboard. If you would like to limit the availability of data within a certain profile for certain users, we recommend removing those users from the profile and instead scheduling an email to deliver data to them.
On a personal note, i found the new interface really interesting and rich, but still i’m finding some hard time locating what reports / data because i’m still used to the old interface. but still the new interface will be much more easier for new users and faster at the same time!

I am actually a new user to Google Analytics, i have not seen the old interface, however I am very fond of the system and the new interface. Very detailed, very powerful, and self driving.
I cannot believe it is for free actually
Google, keep up the good work.

You can still use the old interface as the new one is still a Beta at least for the next month. Then Google will discontinue the option of using the old interface.
Check out the link saying (Previous Interface) under the new interface link…
Not sure how you missed it
